Dear Ellsworth School Department Interested Community, The Ellsworth School Department is in the process of searching for a superintendent of our schools. This process should be as thorough as possible, and it consists of many different aspects. One important element of the selection process is to solicit input from the public. A quick survey is therefore provided for you to contribute to this important responsibility. As you look over a list of common leadership characteristics, you are asked to select the four (4) most important attributes which you believe a superintendent in Ellsworth should possess in his or her role as an educational leader. This survey is completely anonymous, and should only take a few minutes of your time. On behalf of the Ellsworth School Department, the school board thanks you for providing your input to the search process. We always appreciate hearing from the community. Again, thank you, Kelly Mckenney School Board Chair https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfoWyqkR3AmFojt8_LRBU1yK2JhK9AxLm3J7uPT87fvatrI2g/viewform

On March 11, 2021, the President signed into law the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021 (ARPA). The American Rescue Plan funds have been allocated to districts to help safely reopen and sustain the safe operation of schools and address the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on students. As part of receiving funds, the Ellsworth School Department must create a plan for use of the funds and give the public an opportunity to provide input in the development of its plan. We want your input on how to utilize the funds to best support our students. This survey will close at 5:00 pm on Monday, September 20, 2021. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1FvMZ1sIjqZreGkROcEoIhNwbu3pyy4A4x40duGHRGl4/viewform?ts=613eaaf8&edit_requested=true

Urgent Bus Transportation Update for the week of 2-9 to 2-12 This communication is to inform you that due to a shortage of bus drivers for Ellsworth School Department (ESD), pick and drop off times will be, in some cases, later than normal. At this time this shortage will affect parents and students of Bus #1, 2, 4, 7, 8, 9 and 17-for the rest of this week 2/9/21-2/12/21. However, it is important to know that other bus runs may be affected. While this situation is not ideal, we have found a way to ensure all students have a way to and from school. Bus #4 will be picking up the students for its normal run and add Bus #17 students that live on Bridge Hill and Woodland Heights for the first run in the mornings and in the afternoons. Bus #4 will then pick up Bus 7 students as well as bus 17 students that live on Straway and Edaco Court for the second run in the morning. Afternoon bus #4 will have the regular students and those students from bus 17 that live on Bridge Hill and Woodland Heights to drop off on the first run. Bus 4 will then return to school and pick up bus 7 students along with bus 17 students that live on Straway and Edaco Court for the second afternoon run. Bus #2 will be picking up the students for the normal run and add Bus #17 students that are at Beechland Y for the morning run. In the afternoon, bus 2 will have the regular students along with those going to the Beechland Y. We are still working out the particulars for Bus 8 for the rest of the week but without our drivers numbers changing, Bus 8 would be split between bus 1 and bus 9. The impact for pick up and drop off times may be anywhere from 20 to 30 minutes. If you feel that these times are too inconvenient you may want to drop off and pick up your child, which is understandable. If you decide to pick up or drop off your child please let us know. This will afford the opportunity to remove stops from the route which in turn may allow the busses to get the students to and from school in a more timely manner. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we work through this together.
