To support the increased number of families experiencing difficult times, the Ellsworth School Department “Lunch Box” program provides balanced and nutritious meals to children who, due to difficult and challenging circumstances in their or their families’ lives, are not able to afford breakfast and lunch in our schools, specifically those who do not meet the eligibility requirements for free or reduced breakfasts and lunches through the National School Lunch Program. Individuals or groups may donate funds to the ESD Lunch Box account for the purpose of supporting students who truly cannot afford meals. Donated funds received will be placed in an account specifically for school meal purposes and distributed based on needs identified by school and food service administration.
