Welcome back to school, Ellsworth School Department students, staff, and families!
The first day of school for students in grades Pre-K through 9, or new upperclassmen, at EEMS and EHS is Monday, August 31st. All students PK-12 & HCTC are in session Tuesday, September 1st!
Back-to-School Necessities
To help ensure a smooth start to the school year, please carefully review the following information!
Drop-off, Pick-up, & Transportation
EEMS:
Homeroom begins at 7:30 AM and first period begins at 7:55 AM. On Monday-Thursday, students are dismissed at 2:37 PM. On Friday, students are dismissed at 1:37 PM.
Families may drop their kids off in the morning using the designated car loop, or they can escort their child into school by parking in the visitor lots by the softball field or school cafeteria. All drivers using the designated car loop must enter from Pond Avenue and follow staff directions.
Families may use the car loop for pick-up by displaying their student placard on the dashboard and waiting for a staff member to escort their child to the vehicle. Families who wish to walk up to pick up their child may park in the visitor lots by the softball field or cafeteria, and sign their child out on the clipboard outside of the cafeteria doors. EHS:
The entrance bell sounds at 7:55 AM and first period begins at 8:00 AM. On Monday-Thursday, students are dismissed at 2:30 PM and busses depart at 2:33 PM. On Fridays, students are dismissed at 1:30 PM and busses depart at 1:33 PM. You may drop-off and pick-up your student at the main entrance!
HCTC:
HCTC begins instruction on Tuesday, September 1st. All students are expected to arrive promptly for their class at HCTC just as they would in the workplace or college setting. The AM session begins at 8:30 AM, and concludes at 10:30 AM. The PM session begins at 12:15 PM, and concludes at 2:15 PM. On Fridays, PM students are dismissed at 1:15 PM.
Students traveling from EHS to HCTC should expect the bus to the AM session to depart EHS at 8:10 AM and arrive back to the high school at 10:40 PM. Students attending the PM session should expect the bus to depart EHS at 11:44 AM, and arrive back to the high school at 2:27 PM. On Fridays, PM students will arrive back to the high school at 1:27 PM.

You can access your students' bus route and transportation information via BusRight. More information can be found on our Transportation Page. If you have not signed up for BusRight yet, you may do so at this link, and an invitation will be sent to your email.
Technology & Resources:
Reach My Teach
Ellsworth School Department utilizes ReachMyTeach for communication from teachers, administration, and coaches to our students and families. You can access ReachMyTeach online, or download the ReachMyTeach app for iOS or Android.
Note: You do not need to download the app to receive or respond to messages from ESD.
Annual Update
Please access the Infinite Campus Parent Portal via the web or use the "Campus Parent" app to fill out our Annual Update form for the 2026-27 School Year. For instructions on how to access the form from your account, click here.

If you do not already have an Infinite Campus Parent Portal account set up, please fill out a request here.
Technology Permission Form
If you have not already, please fill out our Technology Permission Form for your student to receive ESD-issued devices and technology. The Technology Permission Form has been sent out via ReachMyTeach to the email we have on file.
Please take the time to view our 2026-27 ESD Device Guidelines before completing.
Technology Protection Plan
The Ellsworth School Department offers a Technology Protection Program that provides financial protection for parents/guardians for technology repairs. The cost is $35. Families have the option to participate in this plan. 2026-27 Cell Phone & Device Policy
In alignment with Maine's new "Bell-to-Bell No Cell" law, the Ellsworth School Department is updating its Personal Electronic Device (PED) policy for the 2026-27 school year. For more information, please read the breakdown of our policy here.
