We’re kicking off 2026 with a bang! We are thrilled to announce our HCTC Students of the Month for January 2026.
There is no better way to start a fresh year than by celebrating the excellence and drive within our halls. This month, we are incredibly proud to recognize seven exceptional students who have already set the bar high - making differences in both the classroom and the community.
James Bryant - Multimedia Design
James is a very creative Multimedia Design student who excels in videography. He will be competing in the Digital Cinema Competition at SkillsUSA in March. James brings an exceptional amount of professionalism and creativity to the table. He is kind and considerate to everyone and a team player through and through. He is also very talented in photography.

Alessandro Robledo - Diesel Technology
Alessandro has perfect attendance and is hard working, kind and dedicated to his craft. He is currently completing an internship at Milton Cat in Brewer and will be representing the Diesel Technology Program at the Maine State SkillsUSA Leadership Conference this fall.

Ayden Holt - Carpentry
Ayden is always first to the shop and the last to leave. He is always eager to learn and participate in all activities. Aydan helps his fellow students with anything they are working on and is eager to help out any staff members whenever needed. He is always happy and positive.

Karly Chang - Criminal Justice
Karly is an exceptional student, who is very detail oriented. She takes great pride in her work and is one of the top students academically. Karly is a great leader in class, and is always willing to help others. She is also the first to answer questions in class, and is very knowledgeable in the subjects we study. She also volunteers for many of our community events. Karly is a pleasure to have in the CJ program.

Shelby Gross - Health Occupations
Shelby has been a significant part of the CNA classroom. She is one of the first students to raise her hand to help in all situations . She is a hard-working young lady who provides care to her patients with professionalism and knowledge. She has her PSS and is working towards her CNA. She was selected for the Basic Healthcare Skills competition for SkillsUSA in March. She will make a great future nurse!

Anthony Kimball - Culinary Arts
Anthony Kimball is an incredibly hard working and dedicated student. He is reliable and passionate about both Culinary and Baking and Pastry. He will help anyone who needs help, is self motivated, and never leaves a project incomplete. He continues to seeks out more challenges, more education, and more opportunities, adding several dual enrollment courses to his senior year along with an internship, above what he has already accomplished. Anthony will be attending The Culinary Institute of America next fall and we are so proud and excited to see what's next!

Gabby Merchant - Education and Human Services
Gabby was nominated for her active participation in classroom activities and her commitment to show up to her class and internship. She regularly demonstrates a drive to learn by showing up on time, engaging in discussions, and contributing thoughtfully. Her knowledge of the program is evident in the questions she asks and the connections she makes during class. Her enthusiasm sets a positive example for her peers.
