We are SO proud to celebrate our amazing Jasmine Ireland -- recently named an NFHS Outstanding Educator for Theatre in Maine!
The Ellsworth School Department is excited to announce that Ellsworth High School's Jasmine Ireland was selected as the National Federation of High Schools (NFHS) Outstanding Educator Award winner for Theatre in Maine in 2025.
“In the classroom and on the stage, Jasmine brings an infectious passion for theatre. She empowers students to take risks, collaborate, and bring meaningful stories to life,” writes Principal Dan Clifford in a statement. “Her productions emphasize professionalism, artistic integrity, and deep respect for the craft — all while encouraging young people to find their voice and confidence.”
Ireland, director for the Ellsworth High School Theatre of the Mad Jesters, also serves as co‑department head of the Visual and Performing Arts (VPA) Department at Ellsworth High School, where her leadership on and off the stage has strengthened our entire program and expanded opportunities for student expression. Under her guidance, the school’s VPA Academy has continued to grow in both structure and impact, offering students a rigorous and inspiring pathway in the arts. This is the third statewide recognition earned by Ellsworth educators this school year -- showing our staff's tremendous dedication to their craft and the success of their students.
