At a special meeting on June 22, 2021, the Ellsworth School Board voted to appoint Dr. Muneer Hasham to fill the vacant seat on the board. Dr. Hasham will serve until the next regular election in November of 2021. Dr. Hasham has two children who attend Ellsworth Schools and has been a volunteer in our community and schools in a variety of capacities. He is the Study Director of Patient Derived Xenograft Research and Development Core, a Research Scientist, and an Educator at the Jackson Laboratory. He has served as a scientific advisor for the HCTC Biology program taught “Innovations in Biology” to Ellsworth seventh and eighth grade students at the Woodlawn Museum, and coached flag football to students in grades three through five. The Board would like to welcome Dr. Hasham to the Board.
The Board would also like to express appreciation to all six community members who expressed an interest in serving on the Board.
