RE:      Open Invitation to Mission-Vision Community Forum

Date:    June 17, 2015

For the past several weeks, the Ellsworth School Department Mission-Vision Steering Committee has been working to gather data from a wide variety of constituent groups/stakeholders.  This data has been gathered through a series of focus group discussions, completion of surveys, and in individual classroom discussions in grades K-4.  The data will be used to aid in the development of a new Vision and Mission for the Ellsworth School Department.

The next step in the Mission –Vision development process is a public Community Forum.  This event will be held on Tuesday June 23, 2015 at EEMS from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.  Participants in the forum will be put into groups of 6-8 and will take part in a review of the trends/themes generated through the surveys and engage in a dialog about the future of the school system.  Using data collected through the survey/focus group process and the data review and discussion at the forum, the Steering Committee will develop a draft Vision Statement, Mission Statement, and Statements of Guiding Beliefs for the Ellsworth School Department.  As part of the process, the Steering Committee is extending an invitation to any member of the public who would like to attend and participate.

Please consider this an invitation to attend and participate in the Community Forum on Mission-Vision on Tuesday June 23, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. at EEMS.   If you would like to attend, please contact Teresa Austin in the Superintendent’s office.
